CLP placed at top of Asian Sustainability Rating

CLP Holdings been given received top ranking in the 2011 Asian Sustainability Rating (ASR) for its sustainable practices and proactive disclosure of environment, social and governance (ESG) issues.

The ASR is an ESG benchmarking tool developed by Responsible Research and CSR Asia. It examines the publicly available information of the leading listed companies in ten Asian countries against a set of 100 sustainability indicators, providing investors, companies and other stakeholders with a view of strategic sustainability of these companies.

CLP is the only company in Asia to score above 90 percent because of consistent and comprehensive reporting and a commitment to applying the best international standards in its disclosure,” said Richard Welford, founder and chairman of CSR Asia. “The company demonstrates leadership in both the region and globally. The 2011 ASR comprises 750 companies, selected according to free-float market capitalisation.
