The Australian divisions of wind power companies REpower and Suzlon have officially commenced joint operations.

A new entity called REpower Australia will offer products from both businesses as well as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services.

In July, Indian company Suzlon purchased a five percent stake in the German turbine manufacturer for €63m (USD84 million), giving it complete control of the company.

Dan Hansen, the new CEO and managing director of REpower Australia, said, “With our combined expertise and product offering, we create a formidable player in the country’s wind industry and strengthen our offering in an important and well established market. REpower Australia is now the largest EPC provider of wind power plants in Australia and provides a ‘one-stop shop’ solution for our customers.”
