Thai waste water manager nets $3.7 mln for investor
Thailand's Environmental Care Management (ECM) has new owners following a successful divestment by UK-based investment company, Aureos Capital.
ECM, which purifies industrial waste water, has 22 plants nearly doubling in numbers since Aureos' investment in 2007. It raised USD3.7 million from the sale of its stake in the Thai company, saying it was bought by a "consortium of private investors".
"As a signatory to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment, sustainability is at the core of Aureos’ investment principles, so we are delighted that the growth of ECM has been driven in part by the increasing commitment of Thai businesses to high environmental standards," said Srisant Chitvaranund, a partner of Aureos’ South-East Asia Fund.
