Vestas lands another 50-MW China wind order

March 27, 2012

Danish wind energy company Vestas has been contracted to supply turbines with a 50-MW capacity to China Longyuan Power Group.

The units are for a project in Fujin province, south-east China, a region where Vestas already has 400-MW installed capacity.

The order includes construction and commissioning, as well as monitoring, service and maintenance. Delivery is expected to commence in the third quarter.

Jens Tommerup, president of Vestas China, said: “As the wind energy industry in China is gradually becoming more sophisticated, we are increasingly considering special solutions. Apart from providing reliable high quality wind turbines, we also need to design and provide tailor-made solutions to meet our customers’ needs.”
