The US division of Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co, China’s largest wind-turbine maker has sign an agreement with Union Eolica Panameña (UEP) to supply 2.5-MW wind turbines for the Penonome wind farm in the Province of Cocle, Panama.

Danish wind turbine maker Vestas, the global market leader, could be subject to a takeover bids from Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co and Sinovel Wind Group. A report in the Danish daily Jyllands-Posten, citing unidentified Danish corporate financiers, said the two leading Chinese wind energy firms have been in talks with bankers about a possible bid on the much larger competitor. None of the companies have so far been prepared to comment on the story.
Xinjiang Goldwind Science Technology, China’s second-largest wind-turbine maker, signed a financial agreement with China Development Bank for wind power projects worth 35 billion yuan (USD5.5 billion), Bloomberg reports.
The China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) company has gained a USD3.5 billion foothold in the European power sector by buying the Portuguese government's stake in Energias de Portugal (EDP). CTG has played the deal for a 21.3 percent share in EDP as a means of of accessing its renewable-energy expertise and contracts.
China's Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology has won its first wind turbine order from Pakistan. The China Three Gorges Corporation signed it up to provide 33 units of GW77/1500 high-temperature Permanent Magnet Direct Drive turbines for its new Pakistan contract. The agreement also includes two years of operations and maintenance service.
